Beit Hail Festival Welcomes Over 65,000 Visitors with Rich Cultural Showcases
RIYADH: The Beit Hail Festival, a cultural festival in the northwestern Saudi city of Hail, has drawn more than 65,000 tourists since its opening day on June 28, with people from all parts of the Kingdom, the Gulf, and even overseas visiting the festival.
Long-lasting 30 days at Aja Park, the festival is an immersive experience of Saudi Arabia’s vibrant cultural heritage, open every day from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on until July 27. The festival features many activities, including traditional handicrafts, heritage food, and exhibitions of ancient Thamudic inscriptions.
One of the high points of the festival is the art pavilion, which houses the paintings of top Saudi artists alongside a distinct resin art exhibit. Traditional stories are presented through a folk theater, and heritage-inspired traditional residential models, along with cultural performances, particularly from Aseer, give audiences a strong sense of affinity with the rich traditions of the Kingdom.
The event has attracted praises from many of the visiting government ministers who commended its ability to bring back the vigor of the traditional Saudi lifestyle. The activities reinforce old ways of living day-to-day and communal practices, ensuring their continuity for future generations.
Launched as one of the Kingdom’s broader cultural ventures, Beit Hail is a reflection of Saudi Arabia’s seriousness in commemorating and preserving rich cultural and historical heritage.
