Saudi, Hungarian Ministers Discuss Greater Economic Cooperation at Senior-Level Forum
Riyadh, 24 July 2025, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal Alibrahim, met during the sidelines of the High-Level Political Forum with Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó. The meeting centered around enhancing bilateral trade relations, boosting investment exchanges, and evaluating prospects for future economic cooperation between the two countries.

The visit occurs when Saudi Arabia is hard at work diversifying its economy through Vision 2030, with Hungary interested in increasing its global trade presence. Both sides discussed fields of common interest and considered mechanisms to enhance cooperation in key areas including energy, technology, industry, innovation, and education.

Alibrahim underscored the Kingdom’s continued development and the enormous investment opportunities international partners can engage in across green energy, logistics, and digital infrastructure sectors. He added that Hungary’s increasing interest in the region was akin to Saudi Arabia’s vision of establishing a globally integrated economy based on sustainability and innovation.

Minister Szijjártó, meanwhile, conveyed Hungary’s eagerness to extend economic trade ties with Saudi Arabia and underlined the significance of high-level dialogue in opening new channels of trade and reinforcing political and economic cooperation. He also complimented the Kingdom’s economic reform and receptiveness to global partnerships.

The encounter reaffirmed the two nations’ mutual determination to collaborate to achieve a mutually advantageous partnership and ensure economic diplomacy as a factor of peace and development. The encounter also set the stage for future bilateral visits and the eventual signing of cooperation agreements in the near future.

Saudi Arabia and Hungary have observed strengthened interaction over recent years, with greater interest in joint ventures, cultural exchange, and knowledge-sharing between the public and the private sector.
