KSrelief Initiates Third Phase of Pakistan Food Security Project and Expands Global Humanitarian Aid Efforts

Riyadh The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has officially initiated the third phase of its food security assistance project in Pakistan, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

The inauguration ceremony was conducted at the Saudi Embassy in Islamabad and included a number of high-ranking officials, including Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki and Pakistan’s Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain.

Ambassador Al-Malki made clear that the project is an indication of the guidance of the Saudi leadership and their continued dedication towards the welfare of the people of Pakistan. He added that this project forms part of a large-scale humanitarian plan dedicated to the support of families hit by recent floods nationwide.

Under this stage, KSrelief will deliver over 30,000 food baskets in several locations in Pakistan. They each carry basic items that will be enough to feed a family for one month. The project looks to benefit approximately 210,000 persons.

Minister Hussain had profound gratitude on behalf of the people and government of Pakistan, thanking Saudi Arabia for its ongoing humanitarian support amidst difficulties.

At the same time, KSrelief has completed the Saudi Noor operation against blindness and associated diseases in Settat, Morocco. During the one-week effort, 2,525 patients were seen by medical teams, and 276 surgeries were conducted. In addition, 957 pairs of glasses were distributed among needy individuals.

In Yemen, a KSrelief delegation toured vocational training centers in Seiyun district, Hadramout governorate, to assess the Vocational Pathways project. The project aims to provide practical skills for youth including displaced youth in motorcycle electrical repair, sewing, and tailoring. The program currently enrolls 40 participants from host and displaced communities in its goal of achieving self-sufficiency and lasting development.

In Sudan, KSrelief has maintained food distribution operations in displaced populations areas. In Blue Nile State, 500 baskets of food were distributed to families, benefiting over 3,200 people. In El-Gadarif State, 1,550 baskets of food benefited more than 10,200 individuals.

These operations reflect Saudi Arabia’s greater focus on humanitarian engagement, with KSrelief leading relief work in the world, extending much-needed support to disaster-hit, displaced, and poverty-stricken populations.
