UAE Reinforces its Global Leadership in Digital Transformation
ABU DHABI, 10 August 2025 – The UAE reaffirmed its leadership position in global digital transformation, fueled by forward-looking leadership and national initiatives that place digital innovation at the forefront of sustainable growth and development.
Public and private sectors are enacting people-centered policies, placing citizens at the center as both beneficiaries and catalysts for the transformation process. Global reports always rank the UAE at the top of global technology and smart transformation rankings.
Based on the United Nations E-Government Survey 2024, the UAE topped the list globally in the Telecommunications Infrastructure Index with a 100 percent score, indicating the UAE’s digital network strength and breadth. The UAE also topped the list for mobile internet speed from July 2024 through June 2025, according to the Ookla Speedtest Global Index, with a mean download speed of 546.14 Mbps.
In 2024, the UAE Government facilitated 173.7 million digital transactions that benefited more than 57 million beneficiaries with a satisfaction rate of 91 percent. Dubai and Abu Dhabi also ranked among the top five cities in the world in the IMD Smart City Index 2025, reflecting advances in smart services, infrastructure, and quality of life.
UAE dominated the Middle East in the Government AI Readiness Index 2024, showing its high capabilities in governance, technological development, and infrastructure.
Industry experts note that the UAE is setting new global benchmarks through initiatives such as Dubai’s 360 Services policy, advanced AI integration, and cross-sector digital innovations in banking, retail, and healthcare. Plans to double the digital economy’s GDP contribution by 2030, with AI expected to add $100 billion, further cement the UAE’s role as a model for comprehensive transformation.
