UAE Welcomes Historic Azerbaijan-Armenia Peace Deal
Abu Dhabi – The United Arab Emirates has hailed the signing of a historic peace deal between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia as a significant diplomatic achievement that testifies to the strength of dialogue, good neighbourliness, and peaceful coexistence.
UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and the people of both countries, praising the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump to bring about the negotiations.
With today’s announcement of this historic peace agreement, I wish to extend my heartiest congratulations to the peoples and leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia,” Sheikh Mohamed stated. “Together with international partners, the UAE continues to work to promote dialogue and diplomacy in support of global peace, stability, and prosperity.
Minister of State Ahmed Al Sayegh praised the wisdom and resolve of both leaders in seeking peaceful resolutions. He pointed out that the deal demonstrates a common desire to settle differences through diplomatic means and is an example of collective efforts in confronting regional problems.
Al Sayegh has underlined the close relationship between the UAE and both Armenia and Azerbaijan and hoped for a new era of positive co-operation aiming at growth, prosperity, and development in the Caucasus region.
