Global Enrichment Program Outfits 146 Mawhiba Students with Job-Fit Skills
RIYADH: The Global Enrichment Program, organized at King Saud University in Riyadh, has equipped 146 talented students with academic and professional skills to mold their future careers. The program, which took place from June 27 to July 17, was conducted in partnership with the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba).
With the participation of Saudi Arabian, Kuwait, Syrian, Jordanian, and Sudanese top-performing students, the program consisted of eight specialized career tracks such as:
Medical and Surgical Sciences
Mechanical Engineering
Space and Missile Engineering
Economics and Investment
Cybersecurity
Artificial Intelligence and Big Data
Biomedical AI Applications
The program also collaborated with Oxmedica Global Education, a UK-based entity, which added nine eminent trainers from top global institutions like Oxford, Cambridge, King’s College London, Google, and Dubai Business Associates.
Ali Al-Dalbahi, Head of the Program and Dean of Student Affairs at King Saud University, reiterated that the program offered a space to hone students’ potential, aspirations, and talents—married with rigorous academic pursuits and engaging extracurricular activities for all-around development.
Daily sessions comprised one hour of academic English and strategic learning activities. Apart from technical expertise, students were also exposed to business acumen, leadership workshop sessions, and personal development initiatives.
Student Reflections
Abdullah Al-Shahri, who took part in the AI and Big Data track, termed the experience “an inspiring journey filled with valuable learning and meaningful interaction.” He liked the instructors’ expertise and nurturer style.
Mishaal Al-Harbi, who specialized in AI in Biomedical Sciences, stated that his passion for technology and medicine was the reason he signed up. He found learning Python programming intellectually stimulating, which further enhanced his passion for AI-powered healthcare innovations.
Youssef Al-Khashti, a Kuwaiti student, experienced the medical and surgical sciences track as life-changing, commending the practical training and the professionalism of the organizers.
Fahd Al-Rabiah, who followed the economics and investment track, appreciated the effects of the program on his academic development and personal empowerment. He mentioned that with the guidance of experts, he acquired a deeper appreciation of economic concepts and the international flow of goods and services.
Developing Future Leaders
The Global Enrichment Program is an example of building global cooperation, inter-disciplinary education, and career preparedness among future leaders. It also contributes to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives by developing the next generation of innovators, scientists, and leaders.
