Muslim World League Launches First-Ever Murattal Qur’ans Set Worldwide

MAKKAH — In a milestone initiative towards increased Qur’anic literacy across the world, the Muslim World League (MWL) formally launched its first-ever set of Murattal (recited) Qur’ans. The event took place at the MWL headquarters in Makkah, and the notable Qur’an reciters and scholars from across the Islamic world attended the event.

Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Al-Issa, MWL Secretary General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, emphasized the project as a hallmark in Qur’anic availability and authenticity. According to him, the recordings adhere strictly to the most stringent scholarly and technical standards approved by the Global Council of Qur’anic Recitation Masters at the MWL.

The recordings, made freely available, aim to benefit Muslims around the world — particularly those in non-Arab countries. Dr. Al-Issa praised Saudi Arabia’s continued patronage of Islamic activities and reiterated the League’s initiative to promote proper and accessible recitation of the Qur’an.

Through its vision for the long term, the MWL will spread the Murattal Qur’an program through global partnerships, with focus on educational activity and social media.

This initiative reaffirms our commitment to serving the Holy Qur’an and building collaborative Islamic projects,” Dr. Al-Issa stated.
