OSAKA As part of a bid to support greater international collaboration and reflect its commitment to hosting a life-changing international event, Riyadh Expo 2030, as well as the Kingdom’s Japan Embassy, hosted a high-level reception on Thursday in Osaka.

The ceremony welcomed over 200 distinguished guests, including ambassadors and commissioners-general of Expo 2025 Osaka, and served as a stage upon which the Kingdom’s preparedness to organize a world-class expo with the title “The Era of Change: Together for a Foresighted Tomorrow” could be demonstrated. Main subthemes Innovative Technologies, Sustainable Solutions, and Thriving Communities were highlighted during the ceremony.

Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Japan and commissioner-general of the Saudi Pavilion for Expo 2025 Osaka, Dr. Ghazi Faisal Binzagr, initiated the reception by praising Japan’s efforts in organization and highlighting the significance of diplomatic discussion in strengthening international cooperation.

Riyadh Expo 2030 Commissioner-General Abdulaziz Al-Ghannam emphasized the country’s significance of the project: “The people and leadership of Saudi Arabia are one hundred percent committed to hosting the world. Riyadh Expo 2030 will be where the ideas and innovation of the world converge.”

Thamer Al-Saadoun, Riyadh Expo 2030’s executive vice president, said the same in his statement that connected the values of the expo to Saudi Vision 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, where he stated: “Our theme invites nations to join hands towards significant progress through visionary thinking.”

The reception forms part of Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy of hosting the early meeting with participating countries and building cooperation ahead of the Riyadh Expo 2030, dated between Oct. 1, 2030, and March 31, 2031. The expo will span 6 million sq. meters and be among the world’s largest expos.
