Saudi Arabia Increases Anti-Corruption Drive: 142 Arrested, 425 Under Investigation in July:
Saudi Arabia’s Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) revealed 142 persons were arrested and 425 public sector employees were investigated during July as part of a nationwide drive against corruption.

The arrests were made after conducting 2,354 rounds of inspections in various government agencies, said Nazaha. The cases investigated had both criminal and administrative violations.

Some of the detainees were subsequently released on bail, pending further investigations. The authority reiterated its determination to further transparency, accountability, and the rule of law in all state sectors.

Nazaha reaffirmed that it will continue to pursue those engaged in abuse of public office, bribery, embezzlement, and other types of corruption to reinforce integrity in government institutions.
