Saudi Arabia Reiterates Palestinian Peace Commitment at High-Level Co-Chaired Conference with France
New York – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, reasserted its steadfast support for Middle East peace as it co-chaired, along with France, a high-level international conference at the United Nations headquarters in New York. The conference revolves around promoting a peaceful solution to the Palestinian question with an emphasis on the implementation of the two-state solution.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah highlighted the Kingdom’s long-standing support of the rightful cause of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the basis of the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He highlighted that Saudi Arabia seeks to bring to an end the cycle of conflict and the humanitarian tragedy that has afflicted the region over decades caused by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The conference convened a broad spectrum of international stakeholders and participants, indicating strong global agreement on the need to promote progress through the two-state solution. It seeks to support applicable United Nations resolutions and international law while allowing the Palestinian people to implement their right to self-determination.

Prince Faisal pointed out that the Kingdom’s participation in the event is part of its greater diplomatic efforts to usher in international peace, security, and Middle East stability. He mentioned that Saudi Arabia continues to commit to initiatives that shatter the habitual circle of violence and hostility that has impacted development and cooperation across the Middle East.

He also highlighted the significance of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, one which was initiated in September 2024 by Saudi Arabia in association with Norway and the European Union. This global alliance is in addition to the current efforts of the Joint Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee, the one that has been in the vanguard of the call for Palestinian rights and the cessation of the protracted occupation.

Saudi Arabia’s co-chairmanship of the conference is a clear endorsement of its principled position regarding the Palestinian issue and its larger vision for a comprehensive, just, and enduring peace in the region. Through such forums of diplomacy, the Kingdom remains at the forefront of promoting initiatives that open the door to sustainable development, security, and dignity for all the peoples of the Middle East.parties.
