Saudi Economy Minister Presents Progress of Vision 2030 at 2025 UN Sustainable Development Forum
New York — Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal Alibrahim, represented the Kingdom at the 2025 United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, delivering the country’s progress under Vision 2030 as an example of organized ambition and policy-led growth.
In his speech at New York, Alibrahim stressed that Vision 2030 is based on the ambitions of Saudi citizens and the aspirations of the leadership. He mentioned that Saudi Arabia has become the leading G20 nation with the fastest progress in sustainable development over the last ten years.
He credited this advancement to linking national aspiration with purposeful action, strong governance, and policy-making driven by results. Alibrahim renewed Saudi Arabia’s earlier appeal to move from setting goals to execution, introducing three guiding principles: addressing top global challenges, crafting responsive solutions, and making data-backed decisions.
Referring to local achievements, Alibrahim emphasized the Madinah city’s launching of its Atlas of Sustainable Development, a map of 70 neighborhoods. The atlas seeks to model scientific scenarios and improve policymaking precision as part of the country’s larger sustainable development efforts.
The minister emphasized multilateral collaboration, declaring, “We will continue close collaboration with member states to turn commitments into results and ambitions into reality, building a present and future that leaves no one behind.”
Saudi Arabia’s strategy prioritizes substantive challenges over fringes, with an eye on flexibility and science to inform action. This expansive strategy highlights the Kingdom’s commitment to international sustainable goals and demonstrates its willingness to convert collective commitments into tangible results.
