Seven Umrah Companies Suspended for Housing Pilgrims in Unlicensed Facilities
RIYADH The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has suspended seven Umrah service providers after uncovering serious violations, most notably housing pilgrims in unauthorized accommodations, in clear breach of regulatory standards.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ministry said the violations posed significant risks to the safety and well-being of pilgrims. Legal action has already been initiated against the companies involved, with penalties to follow in accordance with the law.
Reaffirming its commitment to protecting pilgrims’ rights and ensuring top-tier service, the ministry warned that it will not tolerate any breach of contractual obligations or endangerment to pilgrim safety.
All Umrah operators have been urged to strictly adhere to official regulations and deliver services as agreed, within designated timeframes. The ministry emphasized that full compliance is essential to improving the overall pilgrimage experience in the Kingdom.
