UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Deepens Strategic Relations with Albania
TIRANA — United Arab Emirates President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, landed in the Albanian capital, Tirana, on a working visit to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
On his arrival at Tirana International Airport, Sheikh Mohamed was received by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and top government officials. The reception highlighted the depth of the UAE-Albania relations and paved the way for high-level negotiations conducted at the Prime Minister’s Office, the Kryeministria.
In the meeting, both leaders shared opportunities for increasing cooperation in a number of important areas such as the economy, trade, renewable energy, food security, and advanced technology. They also shared views on regional and world developments, highlighting the need for diplomatic efforts and cooperation at the international level to secure peace and stability.
Prime Minister Rama was optimistic that the visit would increase strategic cooperation between the UAE and Albania, terming the bilateral relationship as one with great potential for increase. He also commended Sheikh Mohamed’s visionary leadership and dedication to global development and regional alliances.
In recognition of his contributions to UAE-Albania ties, Prime Minister Rama awarded Sheikh Mohamed the ‘Benemerenti’ medal, Albania’s highest civilian distinction. The gesture highlighted the mutual respect and long-standing friendship shared by both nations.
Sheikh Mohamed reiterated the UAE’s interest in strengthening collaboration in the Balkans, making Albania a core partner in the region. He reaffirmed the UAE’s interest in establishing development-driven international relations based on common interests and respect.
