TOKYO, July 31, 2025 The United Arab Emirates provided more than half of Japan’s crude oil imports in June 2025, with volumes exceeding 31 million barrels representing 52.1% of Japan’s total crude intake for the month, according to official Japanese data.

The figures, released by Japan’s Agency for Natural Resources and Energy under the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, revealed that Japan’s total crude oil imports reached 59.6 million barrels in June.

Of that total, 97.7% approximately 58.2 million barrels was sourced from Arab nations, underscoring the continued reliance of Japan on Middle Eastern energy supplies.
