ANKARA — United Arab Emirates President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Ankara on Wednesday on a state visit to the Republic of Turkey at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The visit is a continuation of the increasing bilateral relations between the UAE and Turkey and seeks to intensify cooperation on several areas such as economy, defense, and technology.
His Highness was supported by a high-ranking delegation that included the most prominent government officials and top officials. They included Lt. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Zayed Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President.
The other key members were Ali Bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Supreme Council for National Security Secretary-General; Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Industry and Advanced Technology Minister; Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, Investment Minister; and Mohamed Bin Mubarak Bin Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Defence Affairs Minister of State.
Also in the delegation were Sheikh Shakhboot Bin Nahyan Al Nahyan and Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, both State Ministers; Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, President Adviser for Strategic Research and Advanced Technology Affairs; and Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs and Abu Dhabi Executive Office Chairman.
The guest delegation also consisted of Sultan Al Mansoori, Minister of Foreign Affairs’ Envoy; Saeed Thani Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Turkey; Director-General of the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) Dr. Abdulla Al Mandous; Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Eagle Hills; and a few more senior officers.
During the state visit, Sheikh Mohamed is likely to have talks with President Erdogan regarding a variety of regional and global issues as well as possible areas of enhanced cooperation between the two nations. The visit reflects the enhanced strategic partnership between the UAE and Turkey following a sequence of high-level meetings and agreements over the last several years.
